About Jenny Kenny

With incredible hearing, smell, and taste, I have a heightened awareness of my surroundings. I thought that was the extent of my “quirkiness” until I was a senior in college and it was made known to me that I experience the world much differently than most people. Not only are my senses more sensitive, but I somehow perceive ordinary information in an unusual way. Numbers have genders, letters are colorful, textures evoke emotions, sounds create pictures.

Synesthesia: when a sensation from one sense is perceived through another sense. As a Synesthete, I can often see what I hear or feel. My goal is to capture those perceptions through digital paintings. When I listen to songs, an image will pop into my head and I must do my very best to hang on to that image, study that image, and ultimately paint that image. I have combined my love for Art and my visions of sound to share with the world a literal preview of my thoughts.
